Took the old Transcanada Highway 1A with a view of the mountains all the way!  A two-lane, gently winding road with easy access to photo ops.  Because we did the trip on a Friday we had it all to ourselves.

It was a ‘dog day afternoon’, nothing to do with robbing a bank!  When we stopped at the hilltop overlooking Cochrane for photos, the dogs barking moved us off a private road very quickly.  Later when we stopped near Morley to photograph the McDougall Memorial United Church, (church of the Stoney Nakoda First Nations), we got hustled out of there by a rather large pack of dogs being exercised off-leash.

Early lunch in Canmore at the Rose and Crown known for their English fare was the most terrific pub grub!  Spent the next four hours walking and shopping the main drag.

Drove up to the lower level of Grassi Lakes to shoot the emerald colored waters.  Then back into town for for the best-anywhere tiramisu and creme brulee at the O Bistro before hitting road again. Back to Calgary in time to walk to Stonewalls Pub for delicious fish and chips.
